Blake Shelton

What is now known internationally as the CMA Music Festival began in Nashville as “Fan Fair.”

The first Fan Fair in 1972 was held at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Featured artists at the inaugural event included Roy Acuff, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, Freddie Hart, Nat Stuckey, Billy “Crash” Craddock, Ernest Tubb, Del Wood, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper and Pee Wee King, among others. Approximately 5,000 people attended the first edition.

Presented annually by the Country Music Association (CMA), the CMA Music Festival now attracts hundreds of thousands of country music fans from all over the world.

The 2016 CMA Music Festival and Fan Fair will be held June 9-12 in Nashville, TN. Superstar Blake Shelton and dozens of other major country music stars will be on hand for this year’s event.
