In 2016 two singers who appeared on the TV show “The Voice,” Christina Grimme and Alejandro Fuentes-Rosas, were shot and killed. In 2007 Cheyenne, WY singer Robin Munis was murdered by rifle shot while she was singing onstage with a local band.
According to WyomingNews.com, Robin Munis, 40, was shot and killed on Saturday, July 14th 2007, while performing onstage at a Cheyenne, Wyoming club called Old Chicago. She died at the scene.
Reportedly, she was murdered “sniper-style” by her estranged husband, David Munis, 36, who took his own life nearly four days later.
Police reports say Robin Munis was killed when David Munis used a high-powered rifle to fire a single shot through one of the restaurant’s rear patio windows, striking her in the head.
David Munis had received sniper training in the military and was attached to a Wyoming Army National Guard unit in Guernsey.
Robin Munis was described as “a consummate professional musician, a dedicated mother, and someone who helped people who have disabilities.”
“She had a passion for the gift of music,” said Mark “Ty” Warner, who leads the band Ty and the Twisters. Munis was performing with the band at the time of the shooting.
