The 2023 Country Music Association’s CMA Music Festival will take place in Nashville, TN, June 8-11.
What is now known internationally as the CMA Music Festival began in Nashville as “Fan Fair.”
The first Fan Fair in 1972 was held at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Featured artists at the inaugural event included Roy Acuff, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, Freddie Hart, Nat Stuckey, Billy “Crash” Craddock, Ernest Tubb, Del Wood, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper and Pee Wee King, among others. Approximately 5,000 people attended the first edition. Annual attendance has now swelled to nearly 250,000 visitors.
Presented annually by the Country Music Association (CMA), the CMA Music Festival now attracts hundreds of thousands of country music fans from all over the world.
