CNN and multiple news outlets have reported that 22-year-old pop singer Christina Grimmie was shot and killed while signing autographs late Friday (June 10th 2016) after her show at The Plaza Live theater in Orlando Florida. A man identified by law enforcement as Kevin James Loibl, 27, of St. Petersburg, Florida, approached the young woman and opened fire, police reported. Grimmie was rushed to a hospital, where she died.
Grimmie was discovered on YouTube, where she had gained more than 3 million followers, and went on to win a spot on Season 6 of NBC’s popular “The Voice.” She was a rising young star and by all accounts, a great and giving person.
