Woodstock Organizer and Co-Founder Dies

Multiple media sources, including Pitchfork, have reported that Michael Lang, one of the founders of the iconic 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, has died at the age of 77.

Representative Maureen O’Connor reported to media outlets that Lang died in New York City of complications due to lymphoma.

Lang helped organize the original ’69 Woodstock as well as the less-spectacular Woodstock encore held in 1999. The original Woodstock of 1969 remains one of the most written about and influential music and cultural events in modern history.
