International Jazz Day April 30 2016 Music Events by da jack hayford - April 30, 2016March 22, 20230 The President of the United States Barack Obama and the First Lady will host the International Jazz Day April 30 2016 from the White House in Washington D.C. Jazz artists from around the world will perform at a concert on the White House South Lawn. The International Jazz Day concert will be broadcast in the United States on April 30th on ABC and also streamed around the world by the United Nations and UNESCO. Viewers will once again experience jazz being played at the White House, where it has been showcased by every Administration since President John F. Kennedy. The International Jazz Day Global Concert 2016 This 2016 All-Star Global Concert will feature a large cast of internationally renowned jazz artists including pianists Joey Alexander, John Beasley (Music Director), Kris Bowers, Chick Corea, Robert Glasper, Herbie Hancock, Danilo Pérez and Chucho Valdés; trumpeters Terence Blanchard, Till Brönner, Hugh Masekela and James Morrison; vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jamie Cullum, Kurt Elling, Aretha Franklin, Al Jarreau, Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves and Sting; saxophonists Eli Degibri, David Sánchez, Wayne Shorter and Bobby Watson; bassists Christian McBride, Marcus Miller, Esperanza Spalding and Ben Williams; guitarists Buddy Guy, Lionel Loueke, Pat Metheny and Lee Ritenour; drummers Brian Blade, Terri Lyne Carrington and Kendrick Scott; percussionist Zakir Hussain; trombone player Trombone Shorty, the Rebirth Brass Band.
